It is early morning.
I look out of the window of the bungalow.
The natural environment is refreshing.
I like to see the grove of mango trees, the grove of guava trees(and a white shiny fruit) ,the banana plants, the sapota trees, the garden hedges and the flowers.
A butterfly flits and hovers over the flowers.
I go out and have a look at my kitchen garden.
Ladies finger has been grown by me.
There are flowers and from some the shiny ladies finger have come out and are in different stages of growth.
I walk about in the dusty lanes around the bungalow.
Then I move to the dairy.
The man with the long hair is washing the cows.
He then cleans the entire dairy with water.
The cows are lined up.
The fodder and meal is given to each cow.
Soon the man on duty for this day comes and settles down in the seat.
After some time the milking will start and then the recording and distribution to the members of the cooperative, run by the staff of the research institute.
I move out to the road behind the dairy.
The rice fields stretch right up to the Research Institute building in the distance and far in to the distance to the right.
I walk past the rice fields and the smell of the rice fields wafts to my nose.
I walk past the small row of small houses and then past a few more houss to the left and come to the Club House.
In the park opposite a man carries his grandchild and takes him to the swing.
I move to the verandah of the club house overlooking the small lake.
There is a lone boat there, but no movement except for the waves and an occasional fish.
I enjoy the slight cool breeze.
Then I walk past the vegetable seller's shop, the cooperative store, the dispensary, the bungalows, the big field ,another row of houses around the field and back to the dairy through the road bordering the jungle next to the Vidyadharpur village.
My walk is not over and now I go past the Farm Manager's bungalow, the Farm Manager's office, the post office, the International Hostel and then take the road past other rice fields and come to the other big grove of trees where there is another small lake and a colony of huts of the adivasis who work as labour in the farm.
My walk goes on past this settlement and to the end of the 250 plus acre farm and then to the other end towards the Mahanadi river and past the bungalows of Senior Scientists,Heads of Departments and the Director and then past the Research institute.
I take the road straight before the Institute and walk up to the gate of the institute .
I cross the road.
It is the road going to Jagatsinghpur and Paradip Port to the left and to Cuttack city to the right via Vidyadharpur,Naya bazaar,Chauliaganj and OMP chowk.
There are a few shops here.
I ask the shop owner to make a cup of tea for me as I go behind his shop and climb up the slope of the canal behind and watch a big sail boat carrying commodities sail past slowly.
Time moves very slowly.
I come back from my reverie transported back from some remote time in the past.
The hot glass of tea is in my hands and I sit down to plan the day ahead.
