I had been to Jaipur.
But the first glimpse of Jaipur was either in my infancy or when I was going by a train and passed by Jaipur.
The feeling was of arid desert surrounding small squarish white houses with flat roofs.
It was much later that I took a Rajasthan Tourism Bus from New Delhi to Jaipur stopping mid way at Behror for some food.
The Rajasthan terrain was mostly arid with acacia trees and dry areas.
We could see beautiful and graceful peacocks and pea hens sitting on boundary walls or roof tops or just pecking around and sometimes crossing the road in a flurry.
Some would have short flights down from tree branches or roof tops or up to the branches.
The entry in to Jaipur was through high hills and then coming across a palace in the middle of a lake,a fort and palace on top of the hill and the hues on the hills surrounding Jaipur gave a totally different impression of this city in the desert.
