Refreshing Greenery
The Japanese Garden in Civil Lines,Nagpur,Maharashtra,India, is a nice place to go for a morning walk and watch birds.
One day I visited it.
The monsoon rains had continued so it was all very green and the soil was wet.
There were a few tiers of the garden and tall trees.
I could see a rose garden,a garden with yellow flowers, but the flowers were not many.
Ilooked around to find what Japanese things are there in the garden.
Afew painted iron structures somewhat rusted and faded seemed to be the indicators of a 'Japanese garden'.
I walked around in the shade of the trees as the rays of the sun peeped through here and there.
I did not venture into the muddy paths as the growth of plants was too much and snakes could lurk in the undergrowth.
I then took a tar path which went through canopy of tall trees.
It was very green and wild.
There wassilencebut for the call of some birds.
I took a few photographs.
The road through the Japanese Garden
I felt good but a bit apprehensive about the presence of some wild animal.
I was all alone.
Soon I saw a building at the top of the hill to the right through the trees.
After some time there was a gate with the deer designs on them.
Left of that was a cemetery.
The view of the cemetery
The area was a Christian area on top of the Seminary hills where there wasthe CharlesSeminary andthe SFS college and other buildings.
I was surprised to see such a big flat area on top of the Seminary Hills and my whole conception changed.
I returned by the wooded shady tree lined path and noticed the trees of bamboo, teak and others with climbers covering many trees.
There isa small temple inside.
One person was chanting some 'mantra' and at the same time ringing the bells.
It was a good walk asI could see a few birds including two big cuckoos, one dark and the other a spotted one.
